glass-manKyusho is not pressure points...HERESY!

We have said it over and over that pressure points are not Kyusho, Kyusho is the knowledge and skill withthe vital structures of the human body.

Pressure Points:

Many people (including the author at one time) assimilated Kyusho to the use of pressure points that are used in acupuncture and or acupressure arts.  But this is not the true essence of what Kyusho is and it is actually an incorrect paradigm... also why so many people struggle with learning it.

So let's examine first the pressure point... it is a depicted area on the skin that supposedly ties into a networked system of intertwining points.  These points are supposedly entries into the energetic (Chi, Ki, Prana, etc.) aspects of the body.  These in turn can heal or supposedly hurt the individual... even cause fatality.

However using an acupuncture point the depth of penetration is only 1/4 of an inch or so from the surface... but if you attack a body (even at a pressure point), the strike will not harm the body if it only penetrates to that level.  The acupuncture points are a superficial structure invented by man and based on a theory.  Using this theory would have us falling and injured each time another person grabbed us, pushed us or even just held us.  And what happens when a novice does strike a pressure point harder than that 1/4 penetration would require and they do not have an effect?

These points lay all over the body and include many points discovered or invented after the originals were not enough or that they could still affect the body with needle or pressure via the man made and intangible map they created.  When you open the body in a medical cadaver study, you will not see pressure points, you will not see meridians or the connecting lines... because they are not here and they are not real.

Kyusho Targets:

Kyusho is the attack of Vital Structures, actual structures of nerve, vascular tissue, organs and other real anatomical things.  When you do a cadaver study you open the body and you will be able to see, touch, move or remove these actual pieces, these were not made by man.

To attack them you need to get deeper in the body to compress, stretch, tear or bruise them as they are all pliable and movable to a certain degree.  This makes them more difficult to access correctly and even more difficult to cause damage to them.

In Vlog (Video supported blog) we not only discuss the discrepancies of acupuncture points as related to Kyusho and real underlying vital structures, we explore many inner structures by actually feeling the nerve and vascular tissue, we discuss attacking the inner man via mental, spiritual and physical as Kyusho enables... by learning to penetrate past the so called "Pressure Point" and learn to expand out striking target t areas many times larger than a point.  This is a must know aspect for any Kyusho practitioner... with out this deep analysis, understanding and training properly with it, you will only ever scratch the surface.

The best advise to give you the Kyusho enthusiast is to throw away your pressure point books and charts and invest in anatomical textbooks like Netters or Clemente, where the anatomy is uncovered in full color plates.  Or use the online charts that are interactive so you can fade the skin, muscle, nerve, vascular and skeletal structures.
